Guidance on what will work for US what won't
Focus on programs which are similar in all 5 companies
1. all are covered
2. there are private insurance companies but they are non-profit
3, Profits are shared between diff. companies (up 200 in germany)
4. this reduces motive to kick people off
5. payments are renegotiated and there is fixed rate for everything
6. this helps reduce costs
7. this movie covers people who are against these programs
8. in these nations, there are NO bankruptcies because of med bills

We need heavy EARLY turnout for this, so mostly Dems have seats

org trains and aids females to be in Dem leadership positions

wants all Dem women to run at same rate as Dem men
offshoot of group started in SF Bay in 2002
wondered why SF city council had so few women in THAT city
why don't women run?
percieved lack of technical skills and network
Emerge tries to bridge those percieved gaps
One of the most valuable trainings she has attended
Invite-only (must be committed to using system)
training is once a month for seven months
walk through all levels of campaigns from field offices to ethics
host cocktail/networking parties to help expand personal networks
with national political professionals
over 50% of Emerge trainees who have run, have won!
