Action Minutes
Attended: Lillian Chu; Josh Gatling; Claire Spampinato; Craig Wilhelm and Mike Schmidt

Action Items:
• Craig and Josh recapped the La Pine Frontier Days event
• Josh will work on a Push – Pull strategy for the YSL campaign
• Lillian has contacted 5 restaurants she knows and discussed the YSL. Mike will send her all of the YSL campaign materials and she will forward them to the restaurants who are members of the Bend Chamber and work with them to set up a local restaurant strategy for our YSL campaign
• Mike recapped his calls to local business associations and media outlets. He will continue to work with The Source who is considering doing a story on the local shop local campaigns
• Clair will provide her shop local coupon books for the Deschutes Democratic to sell at their Deschutes County Fair booth
• Josh will work to produce a YSL logo for further use in the campaign
• Mike will go to Bend Signs and secure a bid for a new non-political identification decal which is half the size of the current decal. NOTE: Mike met with Mary from Bend Signs and she had developed the new half size decal and agreed to produce 600 for $250
• The committee discussed establishing a YSL redemption system. The concept of the program is: Participating businesses would note a customer made a purchase at their store on the customers YSL punch card (Here we need to work out how the business will log the customer’s purchase). After 10 local purchases the customer would send the card into the redemption center and receive a raffle ticket receipt and another punch card to log their local purchases. Monthly, one raffle ticket would be drawn and the winner would receive a $100 and their name would be listed on the website

The next meeting will be held on Friday, August 21 at 11:00 am at the Hong Kong Restaurant. A special thanks to Lillian for hosting our meetings and for the good price for the lunch. See you next month and keep shopping locally.
